Bunker concerns - the sulphur outlook

Article Abstract:

The ratification of Marpol Annex VI sets sulphur levels at 4.5% in marine fuels. The implications for shipping industry from the introduction of the first sulphur emissions control area (SECA) in the Baltic Sea area, which sets sulphur levels at 1.5% in marine fuels, are examined. Options for the vessels when entering a SECA are considered.
