Canada's newcomer enters fast ferry arena
Article Abstract:
Catamaran Ferries International (CFI) has produced the 122.5m loa, passenger and vehicle roll on-roll off catamaran called PacifiCat for British Columbia Ferry Corp. The vessel represents CFI's initial stab at the fast ferry market. CFI teamed up with Australia's Incat Designs to develop a hull form for the craft. PacifiCat will begin operations in summer 1998 and furnish a link between the Horseshoe Bay area, mainland British Columbia, Canada; and Nanaimo, Vancouver Island.
