Curitiba visit underscores FTA's commitment to BRT

U.S. federal, state and local transit officials from 10 cities visited Curitiba, Brazil to observe first hand that city's successful development of their integrated network of transportation system. The visitors looked into the strategies involved including land use and urban transportation.

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority has been accused of deserting the riders just before Hurricane Katrina. However, this is not true. The Regional Transit Authority joined hands with other government agencies and officials to evacuate people from the Hurricane affected regions.
