LRIT moves forward IMO

Delegates at the 83rd International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) session approved a temporary international long-range identification and tracking (LRIT) data exchange. Data centers will be able to communicate with one another and improve knowledge on a ship's identity and position.
