Standing firm
Article Abstract:
Korean shipbuilders maintain that their expansion efforts in the midst of economic pressures have kept Japanese shipbuilders from dominating the market. Korean shipbuilders experienced financial setbacks in 1996 due to the depreciating won, aggressive Japanese competitors, increasing labor costs and shipbuilding lag.
