Article Abstract:
South Korea's shipbuilding companies are rushing to finish deliveries and obtain new orders as they continue to upgrade facilities. Among the most significant developments are Halla Engineering and Heavy Industry's work on four vessels at its Samho yard, the Hyundai Group's acquisition of Halla's yard at Inchon, Hanjin's completion of a 44,500 dwt carrier at its Youngdo yard, Hyundai Heavy Industries' extension of its facilities at its Ulsan yard and Samsung Heavy Industries' setting up of facilities in China.
