Article Abstract:
The conversion of a Korean-built derrick crane semi-submersible into the world's largest floating production system is discussed. The unit, built by Jurong Shipyard for Brazilian oil firm Petrobras, can produce 150,000 bbl. per day.

The Port of Singapore Authority saw a rise of 7.2% in container throughput to 17.04 million TEU in 2000 compared to 1999. The market is extremely competitive, but the use of technology has kept the port ahead of its rivals.
