The beef scare

Article Abstract:

Fears about the mad cow disease, also known as bovine spongiform encephalopathy, have virtually destroyed the European beef market. While the Canadian Cattlemen's Assn noted that Canada has the most disease-free herd in the world, a report by the EU has raised some questions about the mad cow disease in the country. One expert has suggested that the Canadian government permanently and completely ban the use of rendered byproducts as animal feed to avoid any potential outbreak of mad cow disease in the country.
