The new Peckham Health Centre in south London will have facilities including two swimming pools, a gymnasium, a sauna and exercise studios. It will offer a wide range of health services, and there will also be social and educational activities available. Building work is planned to start in 1996, with completion due in 1998. Its main aim will be to improve the health of the local population, attracting both the fit and the unfit.
