Sir John Egan
Article Abstract:
Marketing the City of London as the top tourist attraction in the UK is the responsibility of Sir John Egan, who becomes the President of the London Tourist Board (LTB) in Jan 1998. He was previously CE of Jaguar Cars, which he helped to turn back into a viable business. Egan plans to ensure London realises a profit of 28 billion pounds sterling from tourism each year by the year 2010, catering to over 18 million UK visitors and 28 million foreign tourists. London should be used to attract overseas tourist to the UK and other attractions should then be promoted, according to Egan.

Creative space: well structured play spaces can encourage children's creativity and communication skills, improve their fitness and help keep teenagers out of trouble
Article Abstract:
The amount spent on play in the UK is one of the lowest in Europe due to reductions in local authority budgets, but children need play to challenge themselves physically, socially and creatively. The range of play equipment available to local authorities and other buyers has increased and typical equipment could include climbing frames, exercise stations, adventure playgrounds and sports walls. Many companies are developing specialist teenage equipment ranges.
