Article Abstract:
The Travel and Tourism Programme (TTP)is an industry-sponsored educational initiative. It was established in 1988 to increase student interest in the leisure industry. A General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) qualification has developed from the scheme. The course is practically orientated with input by staff of leisure companies and tourist attractions. An open learning pack caters for mature students. The TTP is also developing national vocational qualifications that will have GCSE advanced level status.

Club class
Article Abstract:
Membership bars are becoming increasingly popular in the UK, particularly in London. One of the most recent to open in the capital is Bam-Bou, part of the Belgo Group. The members-only Lotus Rooms are on the top two floors of a four-storey town house, the first two floors of which are a restaurant open to the public. The membership bar can probably be translated into a successful format in the regions, although it must take care not to alienate non-members.
