Clam up! for stripers

Article Abstract:

Clam bellies are an effective bait for catching striped bass. They are available along most of the Atlantic Coast and have been used for years by Chesapeake Bay skippers and by surfcasters. Fishing with clam bellies allows the use of light tackle and is often successful when other strategies fail.

Snagging bait and letting it swim with the school is the easiest method for catching stripers under bunker. The June bunker migration provides the best opportunity for catching stripers.
