Elephant Gun! The Boys Anti-Tank Rifle in U.S. service
Article Abstract:
The British Boys Anti-Tank Rifle has the distinction of being the only rifle of its type ever used by American forces, and was dubbed the 'Elephant Gun' by the US Marines who used it in the desperate, early days of fighting in the Pacific Theater of World War II. The Stanchion Gun, as it was originally known, was essentially a large bolt-action repeating rifle with a five-round, detachable-box magazine.

Sniping Garands
Article Abstract:
Modifications to the US Rifle Caliber .30 M1 Garand were made to make it suitable for sniper use. The result was the M1C which was basically an issue M1 with a telescope attached on the receiver's left side utilizing a commercial Griffin and Howe scope mount system.

Ahead of its time - the Model 1895 Lee Navy

The M1895 6mm Lee Navy rifle performed flawlessly during its years as the service firearm of the US Navy. The M1895 was designed by James Paris Lee and used the innovative 'straight-pull' action that came from the wedge and cam design of the bolt action.
