A tree grows in Brooklyn and one falls in Boston
Article Abstract:
Boston, MA, experienced a low-pressure system that was impeded by an upper-level ridge across the western Atlantic Ocean on May 6, 1998. The city was covered in heavy rain and gusting wind for several days, with the Logan Airport reporting four inches of precipitation. After the rain stopped, a 125-year-old linden tree in the headquarters compound of the American Meteorological Society was uprooted due to the soggy ground.
