In 1996, donations to charities totalled 4 billion pounds sterling, representing a 20% decline since 1993. The larger charities include Oxfam, Save the Children, Imperial Cancer Research Fund, Help the Aged, and the National Trust. Charitable donations can be made in a variety of ways including deed of covenant, payroll giving, affinity credit cards, and sharegifts.
