All change as Argentina's science leader keeps his job

Article Abstract:

The scientists in Argentina are relieved that the newly elected president Nestor Kirchner is planning to keep the country's top scientific administration. They are pleased that for the first time in Argentina's history the president of the country's main science agency, the National Council for Science and Technology, will be retained.

The gap between scientists and the public rises out of scientists' lack of understanding of journalistic methods, and the need for communication and reporting to generate better public support. Making science and research accessible to a wide audience is crucial to this task.
