Angiogenesis inhibited by drinking tea
Article Abstract:
Tea consumption has been shown to inhibit tumour growth in animals, and green tea consumption is linked to lower incidences of human cancer. A study examined whether green tea consumption can suppress angiogenesis, a blood-vessel growth process. Green tea and the component epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) was found to prevent new blood vessel growth in animals. Corneal neovascularization induced by a potent angiogenic factor, VEGF, was prevented by green tea consumption.

The S-locus receptor kinase is inhibited by thioredoxins and activated by pollen coat proteins
Article Abstract:
Research is presented concerning the recognition and rejection of self-produced pollen by the stigmatic papillae in Brassica oleracea plants. The influence of S-locus receptor kinase in this process is discussed.
