Conspecific and heterospecific social learning in shiny cowbirds
Article Abstract:
A study on whether shiny cowbirds Molothrus bonariensis can improve the acquisition of a feeding response by observing a demonstrator or their own species with which they share roosts and foraging flocks was conducted. The studies revealed that shiny cowbirds could acquire behavioural by observing other individuals and learn from heterospecifics, which they share roosts and foraging flocks as readily as they do from conspecifics.

Allostatic load, social status and stress hormones: the costs of social status matter
Article Abstract:
The emerging concept of allostasis is applied to investigate the relation between social status and glucocorticoid concentrations. The available data from free-ranging animals is reviewed and generated, for each sex separately, phylogenetic independent contrasts of allostatic load and relative glucocorticoid concentrations.

Is mobbing altruistic or selfish behaviour?
Article Abstract:
The hypotheses that explain mobbing behavior can be classified as altruistic behavior, parental care and selfish behavior. Twelve Arabian babblers, Turdoides squamiceps, with a snake model, both alone and together with another babbler is presented in order to distinguish between these hypotheses.
