Crystal-clear images

Article Abstract:

The experimental demonstration of an optical device that amplifies an image without increasing the spatial distribution of where the photons hit is provided using a similar device to produce two images with photons that are identically distributed in space. An intense pulsed laser as the pump beam for the nonlinear crystal of the amplifier is used and the amplified image during a single pulse is viewed.

Quantum interference during high-order harmonic generation from aligned molecules

Article Abstract:

A report on the evidence for quantum interference of electron de Broglie waves in the recombination process of high-order harmonic generation (HHG) from aligned CO2 molecules is presented. HHG from atoms and molecules offers potential application as a coherent ultrashort radiation source in the extreme ultraviolet and soft X-ray regions.

Coherent quantum state storage and transfer between two phase qubits via a resonant cavity

Article Abstract:

An experiment has demonstrated the ability to coherently transfer quantum states between two superconducting Josephson phase qubits through a quantum bus. The results have shown that a high-quality-factor superconducting cavity might also function as a useful short-term memory element.
