Dynamics of orientation tuning in macaque primary visual cortex
Article Abstract:
The orientation tuning of neurons in the primary visual cortex is examined using the method of reverse correlation in the orientation domain. In this technique, a delay of 30 to 45 milliseconds creates orientation tuning. This persists from 40 to 85 milliseconds. During this period, cells in the input layers are more broadly tuned compared with cells in the output layers.

Temporal precision in the neural code and the timescales of natural vision
Article Abstract:
A demonstration on the clear role of relative precision is done. Results show that the experimentally observed temporal structure in the neuronal response is necessary to represent accurately the more slowly changing visual world.

States of mind
Article Abstract:
In the brains of anaesthetized animals, spontaneous patterns of visual activity are analyzed. Interaction of intrinsic cortical states of brain with incoming visual stimuli is described.
