Earle Wilcox Crampton, 1895-1983: a brief biography
Article Abstract:
Earle Wilcox Crampton, a pioneer in scientific approaches to animal nutrition and production, was born in 1895 in Middletown, CT. He received his B.S. degree from the University of Connecticut and his M.S. degree from the University of Iowa. To continue his research training, he registered in a Ph.D. program at Cornell University. He held high positions in several American and Canadian societies, such as the American Society of Animal Production and the Nutrition Society of Canada. Dr. Crampton received many awards for his contributions to animal production and nutrition.

Donald J. Kays, 1886-1956: a brief biography
Article Abstract:
Donald Jackson Kays was one of the most distinguished professors in the Ohio State University's Dept. of Animal Science, where he served as chairman from 1940 to 1951. Aside from teaching horse production and sheep production courses, he also gained acclaim as a competent judge in livestock contests in various states throughout the US and Canada. Kays also wrote extensively and some of his works have been used as textbooks at major universities. He died in 1956.
