EXHIBITION REVIEW: A New Flowering: 1000 Years of Botanical Art, an exhibition held at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, United Kingdom, highlights both the novelty of current practice in botanical art and its continuity with the past. The art were selected from a private collection assembled since 1990s, with rarely exhibited works from the past millennium, chosen from the collections of the Ashmolean Museum and several Oxford colleges.

The exhibition 'The Ship: The Art of Climate Change' would be opening on June 3, 2006, at the Natural History Museum in London. This exhibition reflects the social and global implications of accelerating global change and it will run until September 3, after which some of the artworks can be seen at the Liverpool Biennial until November.

Marine undercurrents: An installation by Ellen Gallagher builds on some little-known work by Sigmund Freud

Article Abstract:

American artist Ellen Gallagher's latest installation, Ichthyosaurus, cites early work by Sigmund Freud, which he rarely mentioned in his later years. Freud's influence appears more marked in Gallagher's two playful collages inspired by artistic movement that evolved from his psychoanalytical theories.
