Health labs focus on mystery pneumonia

Article Abstract:

Eleven laboratories in ten countries are collaborating with the World Health Organization to investigage a mysterious pneumonia-like disease, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), that may have had its origin in Guangdong province, China. Describes the symptoms and number of cases reported of SARS, and current research.

Apartment complex holds clues to pandemic potential of SARS

Article Abstract:

An apartment block in the Kowloon district of Hong Kong could provide clues to the true risk posed by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The study at the Hong Kong Department of Health is the world's only large-scale investigation of the extent to which people without symptoms are carrying SARS.
