Leptin regulation of bone resorption by the sympathetic nervous system and CART

Article Abstract:

An analysis of beta2-adrenergic receptors (Adrb2) deficient mice the sympathetic nervous system favors bone resorption by increasing expression in osteoblast progenitor cells of the osteoclast differentiation factor Rankl. Studies establish that the Leptin- regulated neutral pathways control both aspects of bone remodeling and that integrity of sympathetic signaling is necessary for the increase in bone resorption caused by gonadal failure is specified

The complexities of skeletal biology

Article Abstract:

This review discusses skeletal biology and pathology as applied to the management of cartilage and bone disease. Recent advances in molecular and genetic approaches have revealed that skeleton is not an amorphous tissue but is prone to several genetic and degenerative diseases. The author discusses the present understanding of the skeletal diseases and some therapeutic approaches to treat them.

Deciphering skeletal patterning: clues from the limb

Article Abstract:

This review discusses the developmental aspects of skeletal pattern drawing information from the studies on limb development in chicken and mouse embryos. Research points out that our understanding of skeletal pattern development is still limited despite large amount of knowledge about cartilage and bone formation and their genetics.
