Nuclear organization of the genome and the potential for gene regulation

Article Abstract:

The new data from vertebrates that helps in clarifying the function of genes in the context of the nucleus is discussed and has suggested that the genome's spatial organization is a key contributor to its function. The long-range gene interactions and gene interactions with transcription factors are analyzed emphasizing on the potential of such organization for gene regulation, especially epigenetic regulation.

Structural basis for redox regulation of Yap1 transcription factor localization

Article Abstract:

The redox-regulated domain of Yap1 is identified and its high-resolution solution structure is determined. The results indicate the structural basis of redox-dependent Yap1 localization and provide an unknown mechanism of transcription factor regulation by reversible intramolecular disulphide bond formation.
