Optimal isotope labeling for NMR protein structure determinations

Article Abstract:

NMR spectroscopy is used to determine the protein structures in solution but its potential is limited by the difficulty of interpreting NMR spectra in the presence of broadened and overlapping resonance lines and low signal-to-noise ratios. A stereo-array isotope labeling (SAIL) technique is described which will label the protein isotopes in solution and make a large class of proteins accessible to detailed solution structure determination.

Lead isotopes reveal bilateral asymmetry and vertical continuity in the Hawaiian mantle plume

Article Abstract:

Loa and Kea are the two parallel chains of Hawaiian volcanoes that have statistically different but overlapping radiogenic isotope characteristics. The study that demonstrates the geographic and temporal isotopic variations in the several Hawaiian volcanoes is presented.

Isotopic lunacy

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the commonly used theory that the Moon was formed due to the Earth's collision with a smaller planet. The theory however fails to describe the efficient mixing of all the isotopic systems of the Moon.
