Pedigrees for all humanity
Article Abstract:
A simulation based on several scenarios incorporating different degrees of isolation of subpopulations with occasional migration, linking these sub-population is carried out to determine how far back in time must one go to find an individual who was the ancestor of all present-day humans. It was found that such an individual existed a few thousand years ago and in the model, the universal common ancestry and genetic common ancestry occur on different timescales.

Empirical fitness landscapes reveal accessible evolutionary paths
Article Abstract:
The intermediate evolutionary forms are being explored, which can be reconstructed in a laboratory setting. The single mutable component such as enzyme and the molecular interactions involving two or more mutable components, which are typical for regulatory evolution, are discussed.

Performance of maximum parsimony and likelihood phyiogenetics when evolution is heterogeneous
Article Abstract:
The nonparametric analyses along with parametric results and interpreting likelihood-based inferences with the same caution now applied to maximum parsimony trees are described.
