Prance leaves Kew rooted in the present
Article Abstract:
Royal Botanic Gardens Director Sir Ghillean Prance has resigned in order to take up a fellowship at the University of Reading, England, and revive his research work on the botany of the Amazon. Significant developments have taken place at Kew Gardens under his direction, and he is particularly produce of Kew's participation in DNA-based plant classification. He has overseen the restoration of all Kew's major buildings, while new buildings have been also been constructed for research.
