Purdue attacked over fusion inquiry

Article Abstract:

The high-profile 'bubble fusion' research at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, is facing criticism from researchers within and outside its walls for its apparent failure to respond to serious allegations related to work of Rusi Taleyarkhan. Taleyarkhan who is a professor of nuclear engineering at Purdue has published three major papers, claiming to have achieved nuclear fusion by using sound waves to collapse bubbles in deuterated liquids raising the prospect of a virtually unlimited energy source that is found to be similar to Texas physicist, Tsoukalas.

Concerns grow over secrecy of bubble-fusion inquiry

Article Abstract:

Nuclear engineer Rusi Taleyarkhan reported in 2002, a fusion in collapsing bubbles within a liquid, called sonofusion, which would provide almost unlimited energy if harnessed. A suspected misuse of funds allocated by the Pentagon's research agency DARPA for a replication of this experiment led to a review by Purdue University, the results of which and any future steps would be kept internal and confidential, resulting in disappointment by the lack of relevant information.

Disputed inquiry clears bubble-fusion engineer

Article Abstract:

Nuclear engineer Rusi Taleyarkhan's work on producing fusion by collapsing bubbles in deuterated liquids is subjected to several allegations of misconduct and it is sustained by the Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Purdue University has conducted a thorough review and has made it clear that it will endorse the scientific value of Taleyarkhan's work.
