John Frank (Jack) Allen (1908-2001)

An obituary is presented of the Canadian-born physicist John Frank (Jack) Allen, who, together with A.D. Misener, discovered the phenomenon of superfluidity in liquid helium. Allen conducted most of his research in the late 1930s at the Royal Society Mond Laboratory in Cambridge.
