Shock fronts in Hawaii

Article Abstract:

Meteoriticists met in Kauai, Hawaii in November 2004 to discuss and understand the ways in which chondrule precursor grains were heated to melt and form small droplets. They concluded that some 4.6 billion years ago the inner Solar System must have seen episodic fiery rain showers of molten chondrules that lasted for million years, which were assumed to be produced by shock fronts originating from spiraling arms in the solar nebula.
