Turning the ATP motor

Article Abstract:

The ATP synthase, the nature's smallest rotary motor, plays a major role in providing most of the chemical energy that aerobic and photosynthetic organisms require for their survival. The features of the process of the combination of ATP and ADP (adenosine diphosphate) that couple the flow of protons down an electrochemical gradient are looked into.

Cdc48/p97 promotes reformation of the nucleus by extracting the kinase Aurora B from chromatin

Article Abstract:

The process of p97 stimulating nucleus reformation by inactivating the chromatin-associated kinase Aurora B is described. The significant pathway that regulates reformation of the nucleus after mitosis is presented and ubiquitin-dependent protein extraction as a common mechanism of Cdc48/p97 activity during nucleus formation is described.

State transitions and light adaptation require chloroplast thylakoid protein kinase STN7

Article Abstract:

Plants were placed under changing light conditions to determine the impact of state transitions on plant growth. It was found that when the periods of light cycles were increased, the differences in growth between wild-type and mutant plants became less pronounced.
