Grizzlies in Swan Valley
Article Abstract:
Increasing human development in the Swan Valley in northwestern Montana is threatening the future of grizzly bears in the Mission Mountains. Extensive human activities are reducing wildlife habitats where these animals live, forcing them to travel and increasing their vulnerability to hunters. To solve this problem, the Fish and Wildlife Service established linkage zones across the valley, where the animals can rest and feed while moving between different habitats.
