Mel Korn's Mktg. Co. sold to Saatchi & Saatchi

Article Abstract:

GMG Marketing Services President Mel Korn has sold the company to Saatchi & Saatchi for an undisclosed price. Mel Korn, who is also the owner of Philadelphia, PA-based GMG Marketing Services, will become chief executive officer of a new Co-Marketing Services unit under Saatchi & Saatchi. Tony Dalton, vice chairman for Saatchi & Saatchi's North American Operations, said his company was attracted to GMG Marketing Services due to its competence in working with manufacturers and retailers to create and carry out joint marketing efforts. GMG Marketing Services reports approximately $30 million in annual billings. Saatchi & Saatchi is a global advertising firm, with $7 billion in annual billings.

Parachute adv. jumps to aid Trenton event

Article Abstract:

Parachute Creative, a full-service advertising firm based in Morrisville, PA, has offered its services for free to Heritage Days, a free outdoor festival for the community of the City of Trenton, PA. The event, under the auspices of the Trenton Downtown Assn and the city leadership, is on its 22nd year. Parachute Creative, responsible for the promotional materials used to draw visitors to the event, cites creative freedom as its incentive in participating in the community activity.

Local adv. veteran inducted into Medical Advertising Hall of Fame

Dick Jones, co-founder of Philadelphia, PA-based Dorland Sweeney Jones Health Communications, has been inducted into the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame in recognition for his contributions to pharmaceutical advertising. The ceremony was done at the Plaza Hotel in New York, NY. Dorland Sweeney Jones Health Communications was founded in 1883 and is a full-service health communications agency that represents leading marketers of health-care products and services.
