Regional publisher surrounding Inquirer circulation base

Article Abstract:

Journal Register Co., a Trenton, NJ-based newspaper publishers, has acquired the Delaware County Daily Times and the Pottstown Mercury, posing a threat to The Philadelphia Inquirer's circulation base. Journal Register enters The Philadelphia Inquirer's circulation region, to have nearly 200,000 daily circulation in Philadelphia, PA, suburbs, as well as over 600,000 circulation from its non-daily publication. Journal Register's increased circulation could offer better prices to advertisers. Journal Register also acquired regional weeklies, including the Main Line Times, News of Delaware County, the Germantown Courier, and the Mount Airy Times Express.
