A thoroughly modern mummy; experimental archaeology - step by gruesome step, the Egyptian way

Article Abstract:

Research into the Egyptian process of mummification using Herodotus' account and Egyptologists' research is discussed. For cadavers body donors were used and The embalming fluid, a salty substance made of natron, was the most difficult for researchers to obtain, while for cadavers body donors were used.

Case of the dummy mummy

Ancient Egyptians were interested in animal mummification, and they used to mummify all kinds of creatures. They preserved these animal mummies, to keep their masters company in the next world, but most of them were the sacrifices or offerings to the Gods.
