Letters to the crocodile god: fragments of ancient writing illuminate 3,000 years of life in an Egyptian oasis town

Article Abstract:

Tens of thousands of papyrus fragments that were found in the ancient city of Tebtunis provide a glimpse into the daily life in this region of Egypt. The crocodile God Sobek was one of the prevalent religious figures in this ancient town.
