The guns of Mehrgarh: tribal feuds imperil the future of one of South Asia's most ancient sites

Article Abstract:

This article examines how tribal fighting in Pakistan has limited the ability of archaeologists to work on the excavation at Neolithic Mehrgarh, noted for its 5,000 year history of continuous settlement. Topics include how the Pakistani government and various tribes exert their authority over the land.

Old Canuck no Kennewick man

Article Abstract:

A DNA study on the headless body of a 500-year-old man, known as Iceman, from British Columbia is under way. The results on DNA test, which reveals the origin of the body, are expected by the end of the year.
