Warriors of clay: exclusive photographs of China's most recently discovered terr-cotta army, found at a vast tomb site south of Beijing

Article Abstract:

This article reports on the discovery of hundreds of terra-cotta warriors in the burial pits at a Han Dynasty tomb center approximately 300 miles south of Bejing, China. Archaeologists are working to preserve the decorated, foot-tall figurines that are two-thousand years old.

A warrior's tomb: a routine excavation in a southern Italian cemetery reveals the richly painted sarcophagus of a forgotten warrior

Article Abstract:

Archaeologist uncovered a stunning 2300-year-old sarcophagus covered with brightly colored frescoes in different shades showing scenes of military victory and triumphant return is described. Archaeologist opened this warrior's tomb and reused it in antiquity.

Chinese chimes and chariots

This article reports on artifacts found at an excavation site in Southern China from the Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.). Ancient Chinese historical documents, bronze battle chariots, and musical instruments are documented.
