Classic style inspires a new kitchen

Jim Charles of Heritage Custom Kitchens found inspiration from the du Pont Dining Room at the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE, in designing kitchen space for a client in Chicago, IL. Heritage adopted paneling styles from several period rooms in its new line of cabinets and millwork.

The log cabin has been the foremost symbol of the American frontier life. Contrary to popular belief, the log cabin originated in Scandinavia and was brought to America by Swedish colonists. The design filled the settlers' need for rapidly constructed winter-proof homes.
