Designers rate... Bisazza glass mosaic tile

Article Abstract:

Three interior designer professionals evaluate Vincenza, Italy's Bisazza glass mosaic tile's outstanding features, assets and weaknesses. Associate senior designer Ronald Zeytoonian appreciates the tiles' attractive three-dimensional quality but suggests that Bisazza supplies updated installation techniques. Principal John Hiltscher admires the tiles' brilliant finishes but wishes that prices of custom patterns and mixes could be cut. Senior interior designer Rhonda Rasmussen is impressed by the tiles' broad color range but suggests that turnaround time for color printouts be shortened.

Designers rate ... Keilhauer's tom chair

Article Abstract:

Three architects evaluate the best features, strengths and weaknesses of the tom chair. Designed by and named after Tom Deacon, the tom is an office chair whose high adjustability offers comfort and ease. This view is shared by Jim Horan of Interior Architects who believes that the best feature of the tom is the comfort it provides, while its strength is in its appearance. While Inger Bartlett of Inger Bartlett and Associates claims that the spring adjustments for the tom's back are stiff, Gary Koshaba of RMW Architecture complains that the back slightly wobbles.

Designers rate... Imagine Tile

Article Abstract:

Wall and floor tile manufacturer Imaging Tile has created a digital imaging process which enables ceramic glazes to act like printing inks. The custom tiles, which come in designs such as daisies, chili peppers, leaves, and spiral pasta, are lauded by designers who believe the images are realistic, durable and reasonably-priced. Its weaknesses, however, include the unaffordability for smaller orders plus the possibility that the patterns would saturate the market.
