Getting the treatment

Article Abstract:

The UK government plans to spend 170 million pounds sterling to upgrade the surgery areas of general practitioners in London. This is 30 million more that recommended in the Bernard Tomlinson report. The difficulties in redesigning surgeries are that there is no consensus between doctors as to whether patients should be treated with formality or informality and that the guidelines in the Statement of Fees and Allowances Payable to Medical Practice in England and Wales are flexibly interpreted.

Getting paid what we're worth

Article Abstract:

An atmosphere of heightened competition in the interior design industry has forced some designers and companies to charge very low rates to lure clients. However, the low rates undermine the value of the service they render, since clients will begin to expect such rates despite a high quality of work. To counteract this trend, design organizations are urged to conduct conferences regarding compensation and professional fees.
