Article Abstract:

Aluminium can be used for car frames to reduce their weight and thereby make them more energy efficient. Audi has developed a new car, the V8 saloon, which uses an aluminium space frame of extruded members and die-cast nodes. It has not merely substituted aluminium for steel, but has redesigned the frame to suit the new material. This is different to the monocoque structure in that it has an aluminium load bearing frame onto which bodywork panels are hung.

The cancellation of the EuroMoon 2000 mission of the European Space Agency can be attributed to the lack of financial supports and tedious preparations. The mission requires innovative machines such as robots and rovers, as well as, a large amount of funding in launching the EuroMoon 2000 satellite to the peak of the lunar south pole. Because of limited sponsorship, a successful program of the European Space Agency is unlikely to push through.
