Tony Torrice

Article Abstract:

Designer Tony Torrice has contributed much to the improvement of daycare center designs. He used his child development training to understand the needs of children and designed their rooms accordingly. His pioneering efforts made the design industry take stock and gear its efforts towards the improvement of homeless shelters and the formulation of daycare center design criteria. Torrice's works earned him an American Society of Interior Designers Human Environment Award in 1985 and a Points of Light Award in 1991. His efforts have left a lasting legacy to the interior design industry.
