Out of Africa: one of the world's first - and best - online papers: this newspaper is published in Johannesburg several times a day, but you won't find the Daily Mail & Guardian at any newsstand

Article Abstract:

Africa's unreliable postal service has made it a place hostile to the newspaper business. The phone systems is not as efficient and roads are not as developed which make delivery services unprofitable. A former newspaper editor and a partner have decided to operate an online newspaper that can be reached by a wider audience without having to go through postal delivery. One of the most famous online African newspapers in the Internet is the electronic Mail and Guardian which began in 1994.

Daily diet of Tubby

Article Abstract:

Newspaper baron Conrad Black has come up with the 'National Post' to compete with the three existing newspapers of Toronto, Canada. However, observers criticized the establishment of the paper because of the belief that 'The Globe and Mail,' the 'Toronto Star,' and the 'Toronto Sun' are enough for the three million readers of the city. Another negative aspect of the 'Post' is its design which features the serifs and designs of the 1950s.

Where's the multimedia in online journalism

Article Abstract:

One reason for the slow development in online journalism or electronic publishing is the presentation of old materials on a new medium that is the Web site. However, the transmission rates are increasing as the best content on the Web are presented on a novel medium, the television. Although some might insist that the interactivity of the Web is unique, it is important to remember that it is not the medium that counts but the content.
