Designer on Call (DOC) Concierge Service is a program that brings clients and designers/design centers together. DOC matches clients with specific needs with the designer or design center qualified to meet that need. The designer or design center wishing to enroll with the program must meet the requirements which include experience and recognition as well as commitment to meeting prospective clients. The DOC provides training on showroom products and services to make these more comprehensible to clients.

Indonesia's president B.J. Habibie instituted democratic reforms shortly after taking office in May, 1998, surprising observers who thought his predecessor's style of authoritarian rule would continue. Habibie announced elections for the middle of 1999, and allowed previously banned magazines and newspapers to resume publication. Habibie is an engineer educated in Germany while his predecessor, President Suharto, was an army general.
