Retreat house

Article Abstract:

Boora Architects decided to build a beach house in Neskowin, OR, as a site for its annual retreats, planning meetings and brainstorming sessions. The house features an easily accessible studio, same-sized bedrooms with the same view, a main communal room with dining facilities and daybeds to accommodate guests. The general contractor for the project was Nick Dusic/Custom Builder while structural engineering tasks were performed by Tim R. Froelich Consulting Engineers.

Designer Jim Biber created an open, multileveled space for the offices of Pentagram Corp that reflects the company's philosophy of constant creativity. The space that was built into a former nightclub in Madison Square Park, New York, NY, presents the work area immediately to visitors. Team workstations are located on the ground level, while partners' work areas are on a second tier. A conference room on the third floor has flexible walls for video presentations.

The philosophy behind the interior design of the Legend of the Seas cruise ship of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line is that it is similar to a floating city composed of neighborhoods with different personalities. The Howard Snoweiss Design Group was commissioned to design the theater, the cocktail lounge, the children's room, the teen center, and 18 upscale suites of the 2,064-passenger luxury liner.
