It's tougher than you think to ban

Article Abstract:

Banning the use of personal audio/radio headsets in the workplace has caused problems for a defense subcontractor that makes precision navigational instruments for use in missiles, submarines, tanks and fighter planes. The company issued the policy based on safety, quality and productivity factors. The employees' union protested, however, claiming that the firm violated employee rights and filed an unfair labor practice charge with the National Labor Relations Board. The arbitrator, however, upheld the company's right to impose the ben.

Rocket science

Article Abstract:

Black Rocket is an advertising agency that features unique fixtures that complement the work carried out by the company. Occupying 4,000 square feet, the facility was designed by Gensler. It has a boat-shaped central workspace with large rooms at diagonally opposed corners. It also features a conference room, an employee playroom, a videotape library and a steel-and-glass door set within a deep, angular frame.

The standards of the old Broadway musicals will not die. They are loved and performed today. But no more are being written. The tight powerful structure of this music is not used by composers today. When something is passed on to too many followers, the distance from the original can often cause dilution.
