Article Abstract:

Pacific Design Center has opened a showroom of its product and design options for residential interiors. The IdeaHouse includes a fully furnished bedroom, living and dining area, bathroom and kitchen and family area and was conceptualized as a home for a small family. It contains products that are available in Pacific Design Center's other showrooms. The model home's interiors will be redesigned once a year.

Article Abstract:

Designer Brian Kane created a flexible environment to serve as backdrops for the touring designs of customer manufacturer Tuohy. Kane's primary consideration was in designing components which could be reconfigured at every site to suit the type of display and the space available. He addressed the problem by sliding door frames to hold up translucent panels made of Synskin, bamboo and Sintra.

Furniture designer Rucker Fuller contracted Andreas Androutsellis to transform its San Jose office outpost into a showroom. Androutsellis gutted the entire floor to free 6,540 sq ft of space. The reception and conference areas feature two ceiling drops built from stackable panel frames. The four vignettes reflected in the design are technology, flexibility, ergonomics and teamwork.
