Don Genaro: senior partner, Dreyfuss Associates

Don Genaro, senior partner with US design company Dreyfuss Associates, says his role in the firm is to keep the operation running smoothly. He has been with the company 35 years and is now responsible for more than 70 employees, but still considers himself a designer first. His favourite design is the Trimline telephone, now 28 years old and still being produced.

Barrie Weaver: creative director, Weaver Associates

Article Abstract:

Barry Weaver, creative director of Weaver Associates, believes that the prime role of an industrial designer is to evaluate how a product is to be made and how it will be used, as well as making the design look exciting. The Weaver Associates team is split into three skill areas: creativity, engineering and manufacturing and market research.
